Sunshiny Day

I love taking the kids out in the morning to do something 'fun', to get out of the house, get away from the chores and the TV and be together.

This morning the sunshine was calling me to pack up the kids and go to Fairy Lake & Jubulee Park.  This is a frequent trip of ours - always satisfying and always fun for the kids too.

First we *tried* to feed the wildlife at Fairy Lake.  There is a resident swan, ducks, seagulls, big fish (who like bread!), a muskrat and many turtles - mostly small, but one very large one too.  But no one was interested in our offerings, so we headed out for a walk around the lake.

There is a very well kept, peaceful trail that goes around the entire lake (although Fairy Lake is more like a pond).  It takes maybe 20 minutes to get all the way around, even with small children.

We stopped to take a picture of this stream that feeds into the lake:

And the kids willingly posed together for a picture on a retaining wall:

After our walk, we headed over to Jubilee Park.  There were snacks:

And then lots of playing (but not so many pictures!).  Kathryn is quite the climber and can scramble to the top of this web very quickly:
It was an enjoyable morning with cooperative weather!
