This past week at school had theme days! The kids enjoyed each day, and was excited about it as we put them to sleep the night before.

Monday was backwards day. Its a bit hard to see, but K is dressed in her backwards Winne-the-Pooh dress and shirt and P has a backwards shirt and pants on. Here is the 'back' of them:

Tuesday was GREEN day since it was St. Patrick's Day. I didn't have green pants for Patrick but I did have green socks!

Kathryn wore a tracksuit that was once Patrick's and her socks did have green hearts on them! I put her hair into green pony tail holders but she insisted on having the purple butterflies too:

Wednesday was wacky hair day. I put K's into 10 small piggy tails along her part:

A bit of a change...
My boss would like me to continue working Fridays until the 17th of April. After that I will start my 4-day weeks! Yahoo!

This week at school is 'fun' week in celebration of March break! Monday was Backwards Day, Tuesday is Green Day, Wednesday is Wacky Hair Day - and also the day the kids do the HOP for Muscular Dystrophy, Thursday is Hawaiian Day, and Friday is PJ day! Stay tuned for pictures from every day - I'll try to upload them on Saturday.

I made a decision.

I decided I missed my babies too much. But not enough that I wanted to leave my job, especially with how beneficial daycare has been for both children. I decided to approach my boss about working 4 days instead of 5.

In my head I examined every angle. I knew I had to choose between asking for Mondays or Fridays because my boss doesn't work Tues, Wed or Thurs most weeks and he would need to be there if I was not because the relief pharmacists, although wonderful, don't do cash or reports, or filing, or ordering, or recieving, or etc, etc, etc.

After examining all the angles, I decided to ask for Fridays due to many reasons but mostly because Friday's are very slow right now and on Mondays we generally get a big order and its when I run all the weekly reports and catch up on Filing and paperwork.

The timing couldn't have been better. He was telling me about the district meeting he had attended and showing me some paperwork. We read a section about changing employee hours to reflect business volume - perfect! I gave my request with a couple of back-up reasons for choosing that day and he agreed immediately! I agreed to work any Friday's he needed if he was going to be away as long as he requested it well in advance so I could find care for the kiddos. I am optomistic that the daycare may be able to take them on random Fridays and if not, I can ask Shaun's dad or have my parents up to visit and care for them, or ask a friend who does home daycare (Kelly if you're reading this I hope you'd agree!).

I am glad I will have a special P&K day! I was feeling like I wasn't getting to spend much time with them so I hope this will help.

March 11, 2009:

Patrick had a bit of an altercation at school. He tried to hug another little boy and that boy did NOT want a hug and shoved Patrick away causing him to fall and smack his little face off the pavement.

The result is this lovely 'tarmack burn' on his cheek bone.

Apparently he took it pretty well. A magic bandaid helped (except ripping it off later caused LOTS of tears for us to deal with). And now its almost gone - I've been putting polysporin ointment on it every morning. Poor, sweet, little guy.
And here is Ms. Macaroni-mouth. Yes, she was eating it for breakfast! Yum!

March 7, 2009: We took a trip out to McGreggor Park. My parents were here for the weekend so we thought we'd enjoy the boardwalk and the pirate park!

March 2nd:

Isis likes to be up high - and has learned how to go from the table, to the windowsill to the top of the china cabinet - about 7 (8?) feet in the air.


It was fine until Anubis decided to copy her. Isis is small, and when she jumps down she kinda slides down the front of the cabinet and then gracefully lands with a thump (it is high up, afterall). Anubis... well.. he's a chunk butt..and not very gracefull and jumps full force from the top with a loud BANG. Plus, his weight causes the hutch to move!! We were afraid that 1. someone was going to break a leg and 2. the hutch would tip over.

Shaun put some tin-foil up there and now they don't go up anymore.

Feb 27th: Potty Times Two!
K is starting to become re-interested in the potty. P is still fighting us all the way but is making progress. He's typically dry (and pees on the potty) until after lunch... the afternoons are hit and miss.

I think P may have been crying here. He does make a big fuss about going to the toilet but typically does pee in it. I think he just hates having to leave what he's doing to take care of nature.

Feb 26th:
Blast from the past! Sara, do you remember these jammies? Which girls wore them? Can you believe P is THIS BIG already?!

Patrick is now wearing size 4-5 tops, size 4 pants, size 10 boots and shoes! He's growing up too fast!

K was NOT feeling very well at all. She spent the morning in someone's arms and then refused to nap upstairs. At first we had her napping on the couch with a DVD on but she prefered this arrangement. Such a sweet picture of Daddy with his princess:
Patrick is really getting into reading books by himlself. Yes, he really reads the words. In fact, he reads his own bedtime stories to Shaun now. We are very proud of him.

Later that day, we had a long bath. Kathryn LOVES the tub and she loves to blow bubbles in the tub too.

Feb 21st:

K loves to talk on the phone, especially to Daddy when he calls every morning around breakfast time. I'm not sure who she's talking to here although I suspect its Gramma Dorothy.
Trying to nap on the couch is hard when the twins are giving eachother a bath in your lap.....

Feb 16:
