Say Cheese!!

Ms K. is looking very grown up here, I think. This shirt is new from Gramma Dorothy - she brought it back from her trip to the USA.

The twins really like eachother now. When they're awake they race around the house after eachother and they play fight - very cute. I especially like it when one stalks and surprises the other - very funny.

here is a sweet picture of them sleeping together in the bay window behind the couch. I had put a blue blanket there for Isis as she has been sleeping there for quite a while, but I guess she approved of Anubis sharing her space too!

I found Patrick at the fridge attempting to spell his name for the very first time! I snapped a picture as soon as I could....
And then got him to pose with the final product! WAY TO GO PATRICK!!!

There was ZERO help from me at all - it was all Patrick initiated! Yay Patrick!

Our newest addition!
This is Anubis. He was Isis' litter mate, and although we were originally told all 3 were girls, he is definetly a boy!
We decided to adopt him since he was the last one at the petstore, and they had just gotten a lot of new kittens... it was unlikely he would have been adopted after that.
So, he is here with us now. He is very sweet and snuggle. He startles easily, but after you say hello to him he comes over to rub your leg.
He really likes Ramses, and followes him around like a shadow... Ramses isn't too fond of all this attention, unfortunately.

We have yet to get a picture of Anubis facing forward with his eyes open.

This is a typical morning scene in our house. Kathryn prefers to have her pancake on the counter watching me cook the rest of them. Not sure why!!

On Thanksgiving Monday, I took the kids to my cousin's place for Fessy Thanksgiving. Shaun was sick with some sort of stomach issue, so he opted not to make the 2 hour treck and instead stayed home to die quietly.

Patrick was not feeling photogenic, so there are no pictures of him! Crazy!

Shaun and I had a little Thanksgiving get together here with his parents. Unfortunately his sister and soon to be brother-in-law were unable to come due to car trouble.

We had a great morning at Pumpkinfest! We are lucky enough to live close enough to walk, which is really nice. We took the stroller with full intentions of getting the kids out to walk, but they were content so they didn't do much walking!

The first place we visited was the grower's tent where the weigh-off was in progress. Both kids got a balloon which was very exciting. You can see them holding onto the strings.

After the growers tent, we went to the Mason's tent and had identification kits done for both kids, including voice recording and pictures as well as digital finger prints and DNA samples (via q-tip in the cheek).
K really loved her balloon!
While Shaun and I were filling out paperwork, Lesley and Mike played with the kids and got some great pics of them on an old firetruck:

After the identification kits were complete, we went over to the kids area where there were some GREAT rides. Initially we were going to take the kids on the ferris wheel, but unfortunately K was too short. Here we are looking at the ferris wheel:
So instead, we let the kids go on really tame rides alone! The first one was a rocket ship. Here's K getting strapped in:
Both kids really enjoyed the ride!

Then we put them on the Dumbo ride. Because it went up higher, we insisted they ride together because that made it less likely that they would slip out from under the belt.

After lunch and looking at the craft tents, I took the kids home and they continued on to the car show.
It was a really nice day!

After PumpkinFest and dinner, Lesley and I took P&K to the park while the guys played X-box and Lesley took some GREAT pics of the kids. She takes amazing pictures!!

Reading her new favourite book with Lesley (which K very cutely pronounces Les-a-lee). Lesley and Mike came to visit us and enjoy pumpkinfest and they brought the kids 2 Hallowe'en books that have lights and sounds!

I had a little photoshoot with the kiddos because I wanted some recent shots to send to Shaun's Nana with her Thanksgiving card.

It was quite the ordeal, but here are the 'good' ones.

Kathryn LOVES to feed the kitties treats!!

Our neighbour's son recently got a new bed, and they offered us his bedframe for Kathryn. We were very excited to get a bed like Patrick's for Kathryn and all we needed was a matress. We finally got it all together this past Monday and this morning I finally got pictures!

Here is K's new bed! We have ordered her taller rails for both sides and will pull the bed out from the wall because there is a gap... it is currently filled with stuffed animals, but we'd like a rail for now. She's still quite the squirmer and tosser!

The blanket on the bed is one that Gramma Fessy made (or bought - not sure). It is definetly hand-made and I have kept it in my cedar chest for years in hopes of giving it to my little girl someday.

We also re-arranged Patrick's room. We got him a double set of rails, and moved his bed more to the center of the room. He was under the window before (placements are limited due to the door/closet/floor vent locations) and he was laying across the top of the bookcase headboard to look out the window! It made me very nervous even though we always locked the window if he was going to be in his bed. This makes me feel that he is much safer.

I got suckered into a trap today. We went out to run some errands at Home Hardware and then Shaun insisted we drive by Ports Pets to see what their hours are. He had been suggesting for a few days that we 'go and see' what they had in the way of kitties.

Well.. you know I am a sucker for kittens. There were 3, all sisters - two that were Charlie-wannabees (Charlie is my parents cat, he is all black except for a few white hairs on his chest) and the 3rd was grey. We looked around at all the animals, and the kids enjoyed that, but this little grey cat just was such a suck. I knew I was hooked when I picked her up. After talking with the owner, we all agreed she would be a great pet for us. We decided to take her home!

Going with our Egyptian god theme, we have named her Isis. Here she is!




She is very affectionate and purrs a lot. She loves to snuggle in your lap! She is not afraid of the kids at all, although Kathryn has already had a time out for being too rough with her.

Ramses took the addition quite well. I think he felt obligated to growl a bit, but he was not agressive. In fact, he's more jealous and pouty than anything else.

They had a good sniff of eachother. Isis has her own food bowl and cat box, so there will be no sharing - everyone has their own 'stuff'. We figure it will take them a few days or so to get used to eachother.

So we are now back to a balanced household - 3 females and 3 males, one in each category of adult, child and cat.
