Pumpkinfest 2009!!

The kids, of course, were only interested and excited about the rides. When we went to swimming lessons the night before they were setting up the rides and Patrick desperately wanted to go try out the ferris wheel. Waiting is so hard sometimes!

Patrick eagerly went on the ferris wheel with Daddy. Kathryn had said she wanted to go but had changed her mind right before we were to get on it. Up so high!

We also went on the robot ride - very tame - will skip this one next year I think!

Brave Mr. P went on the "raiders" maze twice. He had to go past some hanging obsticles, up a rope ladder, down a blow up slide, up some stairs, across 2 big bridges (like below) and then...

Down a HUGE slide! He went on this twice!

They also had a mini-coaster this year. It wasn't working very well because it was wet, but the kids got a quick ride (and their tickets back too!).

We also stopped by the Library booth and made a free craft:

Lesley took this great Family shot with the winning pumpkins. We actually set a record this year (which was quickly overturned by another fair/vegetable contest with an even higher weight!)

We had a great morning and left when the rain began to get heavy again.

Welcome to germ central!



Over the past 4 days both kids have been quite ill. Kathryn got it full-force first, with a temp reaching 103 even with tylenol every 4 hours. She seems to have recovered after spending the last 4 days glued to the couch watching endless episodes of baby einstein and little einsteins.



For the most part, I think Patrick was just glad of the downtime. He was a bit lethargic, but did not have a very big temperature - just abit above normal for him.



This morning they were running around like nuts so I assumed we were over whatever it was. I took Patrick to big school and Kathryn to little school and went to work.



At 1 o'clock the school called to get me to pick up a very lethargic boy. when I got him home, he had a temp of 101.5. I gave him meds and now he is back glued to the couch watching a baby einstein DVD (his choice). Ugh. Whatever it is, I hope its over soon so my kids can get back to being themselves.

We took a trip to the apple orchard with Gramma, Auntie Boo and baby Abby. It was a gorgeous day. Shaun was at work and so was James and Grandpy was away, so it was just the girls and the kiddos.

Patrick's First day of JK!!!
He was so excited. He'd been asking to go to "big school" all week. So when I woke him on Friday and told him today was the day he was super excited!!! Here he is eating breakast (and playing Zuma). A hug from his little sister!

Here is his lunch. He ended up eating 2.5 mini muffins, both juice boxes, the fruit bar and smarties and all the fish crackers. He didn't eat any honeycomb.

We checked out the before school program before he headed to class. It was a quick goodbye but he had a good day!! When K and I went to pick him up, he was exhausted and asked to go home. After he had a snack and a drink he perked up a bit and talked fairly nonstop about how his day went and he's looking forward to going again so that is a good sign.

It was a cold morning and I needed a tracksuit for Ms. K. This barely fits her - and the sleves are too short! But it was nice to see Eeyore one more time before he's banished to the "too small" box.

She was quite proud of her outfit!

It didn't last, but I finally got all of K's hair in piggies!

After Boo's wedding, she's getting bangs because she hates me doing her hair. But I should still be able to do piggies on the days she actually agrees to let me do something beyond brush it.

This is the only picture I have of us at the Orangeville Fair. My dad took it of K and I on the merry go round! Dad took Patrick on the huge ferris wheel and they had a blast. They were the only ones on it at the time (fair had just opened) and they went around about 10 times. After that, we all went on the merry go round again!

I spent a long weekend in Orangeville with the kids. On Thursday night, my sister had us over to her house for supper and swim. Then we went to the park. Blogger uploads pictures backwards and I forgot, so here they are in reverse order!

At the Park: P had a great time running around on the equipment and in the field. K spent the entire time in a swing!
