This is going to sound very .... impossible. Trust me, we're having a hard time believeing it ourselves and we've seen it!!

Yesterday while shopping to Wal-Mart Patrick really wanted us to get him a placemat that had the multiplication tables on it.... we figured it was numbers and thats why he wanted it. So, we did get it for him. Yesterday at rest-time he insisted on having it in his room with the magna doodle. We could hear him talking to himself about the numbers and re-producing the equations on the magna doodle. He was happy enough.

Today, he wanted Shaun to explain it to him. I helped a bit too, replacing the "X" with "groups of" and then they started drawing the equation too.

So, now that Patrick knows what the symbol X really means, he can solve simple multiplication problems using diagrams.
